You own a site, you want feedback and you want to be the best right? So do you take offense to perspective or do you attack back?

I've seen on countless promo sites that staff that own sites run to the owners to have comments that are honest yet diplomatic removed. So do you want to hear what you want to hear or do you want to hear the true perspective from others on how they view your site.

I'm not talking about being rude but I'm speaking of honesty and no sugar coating. I have noticed on every promo or admin support site that staff will run to cover on each other when honest opinions are given they will send PM stating they removed comments etc etc etc. Then members only see the great and glorious kiss tail aspects of owners who collude with each other to pump one others site vice letting people tell it like it is.

So you want the truth or not?

Again forum promo sites are for the most part owners promoting to owners so what is the real value other than honest perspective? Yes, many are simply arrogant and rude but when staff of these boards work together to remove comments to protect each other is simply wrong.

Is there any promo admin site out there that is legit?

Come on lets get real and be honest here. I know my site to may sucks so why not tell it like it is for staff owned sites as well or for that matter any site that needs true solid constructive feedback.

So do you prefer a kiss tail or brute honesty (with diplomacy)?

Hey I didn't ask for those posts to be removed! I believe as long as it doesn't turn into flame wars it's okay.

Then have them put it back, nothing was heated and we had a good exchange. I for one like your site but honest feedback is what people need not protection.

This topic will do us all well, we all need to learn how to be open and when we offer feedback, be diplomatic.

Good reply F50 you are a diplomat so let's see what we may learn fro others here.

Let's be honest no one likes criticism, we choose whether to take that criticism on board and learn from our mistakes or we can go in the opposite direction and get offended. I think sites like ForumPromotion are one of the best places to get feedback, people should be appreciative of feedback, good or negative. At the end of the day people are only trying to help you improve your site to the best of it's potential.

Feedback shouldn't be sugar coated it should be said how it is. It should be said with maturity and with the best intention intended.

Then why would staff on FP remove diplomatic dialog between the site owner and members? That is what took place and the site owner did not even request it.

All and all we need to get past kiss tail and state being honest but honest form a a developer and guest perspective.

Good comment M8

I can't comment specifically on the incident from the topic as I didn't see it but the promotion section isn't actually intended for feedback, Peer To Peer Reviews is. People always do though. I can't really say anything else as I didn't see it.

True but when we promote we all should be ready for a critique. This is why I made this thread. I for one want to know your thoughts even if in my promo thread. As long as its diplomatic that is all I seek.

Even then, I see so much BS with friends voting in FOTM to feedback it makes me wonder where is the purity of feedback? We are all site owners talking to site owners so why even be a promo site? The members here and on other such boards are 90% site owners. No promo site has ever cracked the code on how to draw guests in, and if they did and guests saw the banter that goes on here they would not visit. Remember, the avg guest is not a developer they seek a place to hang out... most wil not know a rounded corner from one that is not.

No bro you're wrong see here everyone in life gets a medal there are no bad sites what are you thinking if you can't think of anything nice to say don't say it.

I guesstimate about 80% of the active members on here are purely here for the community, not to promote. Normally people that want to promote will come and then go once there job is done, but this is going off-topic.

Ultimate troll

I hate ass kissing at best of time but with promotion sites people will do it as they think if they keep people sweet and be nice and join their forum, they in return will join theirs. This happens countless times and then people don't say what they mean as they know if they upset someone they risk losing a member.

You can' please everyone and shouldn't try. Remember one mans crap is another mans gold. If you are going to open a site you have to be open to all forms of feedback good or bad.

Bad feedback is better than good as it gives you a better idea of how others view it and ways you can improve it. If people are ass kissing you and telling you your site is the best thing since sliced bread, how are you as the admin/owner every going to improve it?
