Hi so I was by friends and family that Temu seems to scam people of their credit cards I am not sure if this is true or not I just want to know have any of guys on here shopped on Temu before or got what you ordered or got scammed on it anyway?

I haven't personally used it, but I also feel like I haven't heard good things about it. I haven't heard about people not getting what they ordered, but I've heard about people not using it anymore because they or someone they know got scammed.

Quality-wise, it gives me Shein vibes. I've ordered from Shein a few times before, and I haven't had issues with what I've bought, but there's definitely certain things I absolutely would not order from them (like electronics, appliances, or make up) just because I'd be wary about the quality at the price I'm paying for it. I've ordered a fair few clothes from Shein before though and some jewelry, and it's all held up pretty well.

I am not sure of the scam part, but it is pretty much a "you get what you paid for" situation, as most stuff that family members of mine got was cheaply priced, and ended up being cheap items that wasn't as high of quality as they thought it would be.

From what little I know I don't think it's a scam but the majority of people who buy from them appear to wish they hadn't. It appears to be a case of you get what you pay for and you are not paying very much at all.

I don't think it's a scam, but they sell cheap products and the build quality on things isn't going to be great. I like bootleg games so I like to browse Temu to see what they've got. It's similar to Wish or Aliexpress.

Temu has a specific strategy, selling cheap.
But we as buyers should know that most of the time you pay more, you get more and, The less you pay, the less you receive.
In general, I think it is good for some products.

No, it’s not a scam. They offer a lot of cheap deals because everything is made and shipped directly from manufacturers in China.

I’ve had friends and family members buy things from Temu, and their credit cards were safe.

Wish, aliexpress, temu. Same cheap garbage. You get what you pay for.

If you are as old as I am you'll remember when anything made in Japan was a joke to such an extent when something broke you'd say it must have been in Japan and everyone would laugh. It didn't take long for the Japanese to turn that around and become a world leader in many areas of manufacturing.

It seems to me China is going through a similar process which starts by making cheap copies while gaining the necessary skills to compete on real terms with the rest of world at the cutting edge of manufacture.

I've seen it with their so called 'knock off' guitars which were dire a few years ago but now you can buy fake Gibson 335 hollow body guitar which are hard to make but retail at around $200-$350 and the construction is better than the real thing at around $4,000. If you replace the cheap hardware with genuine Gibson parts at $500 you have a better guitar than Gibson can produce for a less than a quarter of the cost.

The worry is, given their immense size, if China follows the same path as Japan that could have major financial implications for the rest of the world.

I haven't ordered for anything online through Temu. I don't trust Chinese sites.

Temu ads is a turn off for me. It's why I've not had any interest in buying anything they are selling.

Temu is a bit dodgy... stuff is cheap, but the quality is generally quite low, and quite frequently you'll receive an order that contains only around 50% of the items you actually ordered, along with some other random crap. At least that's my experience. xD

I’ve never ordered from Temu but know work colleagues that have and the quality of goods is very shoddy and doesn’t last long but they don’t mind as it’s costing them pennies to get the stuff.

They have a lot of quality clothing and other things.

My sisters have ordered a lot clothes from temu for their kids along with Shein.
Their clothing items are good.

However, I wouldn’t purchase electronics from them.

I've heard bad things about Shein. Lots of people were getting extra gifts with their purchases, not good ones.

After looking into it, Nope, based in china that seems good based on what they ask for there prices and so can't be trusted

I don't think they are a scam, as much as I joke that their name is close to the word scam in Spanish (Timo [teem-oh]), at least not in the fraudulent card activity part. they are kind of shady with their gamified way to try to lure and hook you in. I downloaded it and I uninstalled it within the same day. Because it gave me this barricade of discounts if I ordered under certain amount of time and that mean you get more than a few items to void shippping and get the good deals. Also I found that searching what I was after was really difficult because the app was dead set on trying to throw everything else at me. Maybe I am just clumsy and I didn't get the interface but ended up with buyer's regret and cancelling the whole thing shortly after paying. They did refund me and that's the last of it. Deleted from my phone and never touching it again.

However I heard the algorithm is really good to learn what you like so I bet it is a black hole if you spend enough time with it. You just have to read every details and resist the constant FOMO that they will try to induce in you.

I don't think so. I haven't used it personally but from what I have been told by some of my family members, it's a good website but you just need to be careful. Make sure the seller has decent reviews before ordering the items.
