I'm very opinionated about freedom of speech. I could write an essay on it. 😛
Basically, I think that everyone has a set of fundamental rights, one of which is free speech. In my opinion, you have the right to say whatever you want, whenever you want to, with only a few restrictions. The right of free speech applies almost everywhere, IMO. For example, I do not think that a platform like Twitter or Facebook has the right to censor free speech. To that end, I think large social network services should be regulated as utilities, meaning that they shouldn't be able to discriminate against their users on many grounds, including political viewpoint.
I also believe that the right to free speech includes the right to be free from punishment for free speech. For example, an employer should not have the right to fire an employee based on their political viewpoint, just like they can't fire someone for their race or gender. It's of course different if they annoy customers on the job. I also don't think you have the right to go up to someone and scream insults at them. But that shouldn't be punished as bad speech, but as disruptive or threatening behavior.
I do think that small clubs/sites should have much greater leeway in who they allow in and what content they allow to be submitted, but only because they are a small group. Likewise, I think it's fine for a one-off mom and pop shop to have an opinion like "we won't bake cakes for same sex weddings," since a mom and pop shop can actually have a religious opinion. But Target or some other large corporation shouldn't be able to make that case, because a large company can't hold a religious viewpoint. That's just one example, both of which fit under my general ideological theme of "individuals have fundamental rights. Corporations and groups should be able to do as they wish, except when their actions may violate the fundamental rights of individuals."

Yep. I don't know why so many people are outraged about it to be honest. There are already barriers across the US-Mexico border. Here are a few pictures.
The US spends about 500 billion dollars on defense every year. The U.S.S. Gerald R. Ford, an Aircraft Carrier, cost about 13 billion dollars to build. We spend about 16 billion on counter-terrorism operations every year. The U.S. invaded Iraq for pretty much no reason for a cost of 2 trillion dollars. It's quite reasonable to upgrade our current border defenses for a cost of what some estimate between 15 and 25 billion.
Border security is an important part of any nation's security. And as a nuclear superpower, we are a particularly enticing target for attack. With an unsecure border, a rival nuclear power could hand a small nuke or dirty bomb to a group of anonymous terrorists, and let them smuggle it over our border to destroy one of our cities. That would be a perfect first strike attack, because it is deniable, and the detonation would come with exactly zero warning. If targeting DC, it could decapitate our government in the blink of an eye, crippling our response. That's the worst case scenario. There's also the possibility of groups like ISIS sending fighters over the border. While it may seem an expensive price to stop ISIS fighters, we spend a comparable amount on fighting ISIS and similar groups in the middle east via drone operations already. It is not such a great leap to bolster our defensive measures as well as our offensive measure.
And finally, a border wall also gives you good control over who can enter and exit the country. We do have immigration laws, even though some seem to wish they weren't enforced. 😛
