The Admin Talk update thread

I've never really done a thread like this but here we go. 🙂

The site is Admin Talk, we're running the latest version of xenforo, so at times we'll have a default looking style. We have a nice skin that will be ready once gold is out.

Some news is just today; merging two smaller admin and webmaster sites with Admin Talk.

We have a few things lined up soon, one of the big ones is a set of 9 custom branded photoshop tutorials for Admin Talk that will be in our Graphics Tutorial section.

We also have a nice newsletter using mailchimp that will send out as soon as we get the tutorials posted and sent out.

We have some interviews lined up, I just need to sit down and write the questions. 😳

Anyways, we now have about 5,000 threads and 34,000 post and 2,000 members.
(may prune some of the zero poster members at some point)

PS.. You may recognize some of the post on Admin Talk, it was formally under the AdminBB.org domain but I was forced to change the URL. :shrug:
 
We've upgraded to the latest GOLD release of xenForo on Admin Talk
I've also upgraded and enabled our portal/home page which has promoted articles listed in the main body.
I've been messing around with the style, I know we'll have our nice paid style sometime in the next week.
Still waiting on my tutorials, but I know they are coming. (I've worked with this guy several times in the past)
I also setup our forum directory again and upgraded the script it was running.
I have several things I need to do with it, they will come out in due time.

We also recently posted a year end review of what's happen and what's to come of Admin Talk.

I wanted to put together a list of some of the changes we’ve gone through in the last 4 months of this year. (This will also be covered in our first newsletter which you can subscribe for in our sidebar)

  • We changed our name to Admin Talk
    We’ve upgraded all our xenForo scripts
    We’ve added a portal as a home page
    We’ve updated & expanded our link directory
    We’ve added a media center for video tutorials
    We’ve merged 3 smaller admin forums
    We’ve added plugins to help interaction across all platforms
    We’ve added 2,000 backlinks so far
    Sig links visible to guest
    We've Sponsored our 1st WP style.
    We've started adding content to the Admin Talk Blog.

Here are some items that we have to look forward to in the near future.

  • Send out our first newsletter since I purchased the site.
    Custom branded photoshop tutorials. (These have been paid for, waiting on delivery)
    Expanding our interview section, I have several lines up, just need to write out the questions.
    Skin for the forums, either the paid one we had before or a custom one like we have now.
    We will be getting a new logo, this is after we set the style. (I will hold a paid contest for this over at DP)
    After the logo, we will be getting a nice style for the link directory.
    Custom tools that forum admins would find useful
    Possibly a blog subdomain that will be integrated with the userbase of the forum.
    Release a few styles, defiantly wordpress styles, hopefully some forum styles as well.
    Backlinks backlinks backlinks! Lots of backlinks, all over.
    A forum contest soon for real $$$$!

We've started offering a free traffic service to the members of Admin Talk.

I wish this site had a WIYSIWYG editor or I knew where it was so not sure how this format will looks but I guess we'll see. 😳

So I was just setting up Twitterfeed for the affiliate shop blog I’ve been playing with and I started thinking of how I could entice the members to post here and help with loyalty and it hit me. I can help you guys out by adding your forum RSS feeds to my Twitter accounts. They’ll post the 5 newest post from your forum every 30mins 24/7/365!

I’m always building more followers to my twitter accounts when I remember to start the program, you’ll have your link sent out to about 6,000 followers give or take a few that may be duplicates. I target unique keywords for each account when searching for new people to follow.

There are the accounts from lowest to highest

I can also add a prefix to each update with a tag for easier tracking.
I use #AdminTalk for this forum/sub-sites and #GeneralForums for my other forum.

There are two more great free offers in the rest of the thread, I strongly suggest checking them out.

All you have to be is in the "Active" user group and post in that thread.
To be an "Active user" you just have to make a couple post and be a member a few days..

Hello Everyone,

This is an exciting announcement for me, something I’ve been looking forward since I was first contacted about it. This is something that was brought to my attention and I had the chance to get in the initial funding but wasn’t able to afford it at the time because of I was also moving to a new location.

So… long story short, we now have a fantastic mod for our forums that allows us to sign up on one forum and be able to login and post on any that we have in the network. (Currently 2 forums)

I’ll send an email out to the General-Forums.com members and let them know about Admin-Talk.com, I’ll mention this in our next Admin-Talk.com newsletter. This will allow us a few things, one being we could add another forum to our network and not having to merge all content, just access to it.

Wow, I haven't been here in a while..
We've had a lot of updates to Admin-Talk, like we're right around 475,000 post which makes it one of the largest webmaster/admin type forums that's ran as a hobby. 🙂
