A great site which I've been a member of for a few years. If a question can't or doesn't get answered here, I ask there.

Its a great site, they are my model for my admin site. I hope one day my forum has atleast a fifth of the traffic they get =]/

Make sure once a month (I use the 1st as a base) you submit to the main search engines (google, yahoo, bing).

It is a great site, however, they are almost a competitor of FP (nearly) so I would say that I'd prefer FP 🙂

They have a bunch of elitists there, which is why I stay here. Though they have a ton more successful forums on there.

Doesn't this topic count as advertising your board outside of the Basic Advertisement bit?

Why not, please explain? Whats to stop ever member posting about their forum in a new topic whenever they feel like it?

I'm just letting you know that I don't own the forum that I asked about. I don't know who the owner is.

They don't like competition. You aren't even allowed to have links to admin-related or promotion forums there.

TAZ doesn't need promotion. They are around the size of FP, and most members of there know about here and vice versa.

Yes, but anyone/everyone could post links to forums in this section then?

It would make more sense to now allow topics like this wouldn't it?

I see what your saying, but think of it like this.

I'm wondering if I can sell my site.
Somebody says to go to digital point

Would that be like advertising?

The Admin Zone is probably the most well known Admin forum on the entire Internet. It is basically the same as this site but with quite a lot more knowledgable Admins as this site is primarily to advertise your forum whereas that site is for support and forum chat. It is quite obvious you cannot promote your site here, nor has the creator of this topic done so as it is not his forum. As a poster said above, it does not need advertising.

I've been on The Admin Zone since 2008. When I was running a webmaster forum, I had my links on The Admin Zone for ages and never got in trouble (I'm sure things changed cause I know sbfc got in trouble). To say The Admin Zone or Forum Promotion is better is like saying Apples are better than oranges. What I do like about The Admin Zone, however, is the Launch Team idea and the quality of post exchanges that I've got from there (I usually don't get oh yeah 😀 on exclusively off-topic posts, I get guys who would look up the specific genre first). I also like how guys like bfarber (of IPB), Matt Rogowski (of MyBB), and a few other forum developers/support staff are often there as well. Really, most of The Admin Zone's guys are professionalists while some of the guys here are hobbyists or first-timers, and that's fine. I personally think you should have a mix of both.

Having said all that, I'm actually going to admin/promotion forums less and less now. For someone who runs a very genre-specific forum, there's no point in getting post exchanges because the off-topic stuff do nothing.

I personally do not like it at all. I have a problem with some of their views on certain things.

I don't like it too much either anymore. It's funny how in their job seeking forum they disabled replies. People did get very rude with you though if you didn;t have links. I am glad they disabled posting in there for everyone besides the OP.
