First off, Happy New Year's! I hope you all enjoyed the day starting the countdown too 12/21/2012.

Secondly, am I the only one who sees no point in New Year's? It's a day. Nothing but a day, has no significance whatsoever. Sure, you could argue it's a new start, but I say, why do you need too wait a year too make a new start? It's stupid. If I could somehow be the Scrooge of New Year's, I'd do it.

True it's a day but it's a New Year Day. Spot on far as making new starts but it's more of a day to spend time with people that you may not otherwise do so, it's a reflection period as well.

Life is a journey, you have a B-Day what do you celebrate? For me it's the life lived and the life to be lived.

Holidays are not for everyone and I respect BB's position far as not wanting to be part of such events. For the 80% or so who do take part, Happy New Year!!!!

To be honest I don't know how I feel about this one. At one end I feel you do make a fair point and I agree with you to an extent, but on the other hand... oh, I don't know! But you do make a fair point for the most part!

Maybe it just depends on how you were bought up but I see every "new year" as a new change for me. For example, this year I promised myself that I would learn how to code and that is my goal for 2012 but I can see where you're coming from. 🙂

Thats not what I was saying. Every day IS just a day, but different individual days are more significant to different people. What days you personally feel are insignificant does not matter to other people. 😛
