The Best Webhosting Company

do you want to buy a shared or reseller hosting ? -😉- or maybe VPS it really depends Let me know.

The best quite often depends on what you want hosting for such as if you want to host a youtube clone. The best host to host a youtube clone could be different to the best host to host a forum.

it depends on what you need, there is not best hosting company only what is best for you and your needs.

For a website? I haven't tried anything except Freewebs and Google Sites. o_0

For a forum? I've tried too many but Forumer is really good.

I recommend Hawkhost. FP has been hosted with then for many months with no problems. They also don't suspend you for to much traffic like alot of other hosts.

I really like and recommend HyperPHP. It has good free packages, I'm not really sure about their paid packages. [ Link ]

HostMonster.com has EVERYTHING unlimited and they are only $6/mo!

I've been using them for over 3 years

Hostmonster = blueHost.

From my experience, and I'm sure Ghost will back me up on this: Low...low CPU limits, and I mean low.

Luckily my hosting expires with them in 29 days, and will be moving swiftly onto HawkHost. 🙂

Agreed completely. I got locked out twice because one of my forums overloaded it while trying to back them up. I still have more then a year on my account though, and thus far just hosting simple web pages does fine. If you plan to host a forum, stay clear, web pages should be fine for the most part :great:

I don't have a favorite web host as of now :\

Well you were trying to backup your forums - not just host it. That is probably why since your forums is probably so large it would take a lot of CPU and such to back it up?

Backing up data is the most important thing for a webmaster, so not having the ability to do that without suspension is... crazy.

I don't speak from personal experience, but I hear http://asmallorange.com is very good. They also don't oversell, so what you see there is what you get, basically.

Also, I have gone through their TOS and support forum topics, and can say that I like what they have going. They won't shut you down if your users link to torrents and stuff like that, as long as you comply when given a DMCA notices, etc.

@JamesD31
My forum had about 125 members, and just over 10,000 posts. It honestly wasn't a huge site, and it was only a month or so in. A site like Forum Promotion would overload the CPU Limits almost instantly :-\

@Tecca
Nice find, but their plans are a bit expensive to me. For example you can get 1,000Mb Storage and 25GB Bandwidth for $10 a month with them, yet with FI.ST you can get 2,500MB Storage and 25GB Transfer for 20 posts on their forum per month. The difference may be the overselling, since FI.ST is on a reseller.
