Hi Folks,
I wasn't going to post this thread in the general section (it was only posted in the staff room) but as we are almost at the end of our fund raising I decided to give it that final little push so here goes........
As some of you may already be aware, our close friends little boy Conner (aged just 2) was diagnosed with a Neuroblastoma, a cancer of the adrenal gland back in February.

He had been poorly on and off for a while but when they finally found out what was wrong he very quickly deteriorated...
From this...

to this.......

I apologise if you find that last picture distressing but it's the harsh reality of what happens....
My hubby Gaz and I decided straight away that we would do as much fund raising as possible to help the family get through this really tough time, hopefully raising enough money to cover their bills while they were off work and away from home in Birmingham Children's Hospital and leaving something left for a trust fund for Conner and making donations in Conner's name to some of the charities involved.
Quite a few members here have made very generous donations and one or two from other forums have too for which we are truly grateful.
We have done loads of things since February, here are just a few pictures...

We've had lots of media coverage for all our events and we have a Facebook page for anyone that wants to follow the story http://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=gro ... =group_r2j please feel free to request to be added to the group.
Conner has just finished 8 lots of chemotherapy and I'm pleased to say he's doing really well although he's not out of danger yet....
This was his first smile

and he just got better and better...

This is the most recent one of him after we had his bedroom makeover done...

Conner is due to have his 8-12 hour operation to remove the tumour on the 4th of July and after that he will have to have a 5 day course of high intensity MAT block chemotherapy with stem cell replacement, this is highly dangerous and could potentially kill him, hopefully the stem cells (super cells) will divide within the 2 week window and prevent his organs from dying, at best he will be possibly deaf afterwards but it will kill off the cancer. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
Anyone wishing to make a donation to our appeal can do so via PayPal,
.... Simply go to PAYPAL, click send money, insert the email [email protected] type in the amount, click the personal tab and send it as a gift. All money collected there will then be transferred to the bank account set up in Conner's name 🙂
Even the smallest amount is most gratefully appreciated, it's not about how much is given it's the fact that people have. Many thanks for taking the time to read this thread.

PS, just a few big shouts go out to Fowler, Fergal, Rich Hazey, Joel, FluffyBunny, Grumpy, Patrick, Chris Grigg who have already donated :great:
