In your AWStats in cPanel, what is the different between Pages and Hits. Hits has more significantly, but what is the difference?

Hits = When they view something it will give a hit, if you refresh or go to a new page it will add a hit.

Pages = How many different pages they've viewed, each topic someone views will add a pageview, but I don't think it will stack up like hits.

i.e:
Refreshing a topic 10 times = 10 hits, 1 pageview.

Then what is the difference between a pageview and a number of visits? It can't be the number of times a person has visited the site, because wouldn't that be hits?

Hits will count as images too. If you have 10 images on one page, it will count as 11 hits.

AWStats should tell you what difference it is, when you hover over each individual field with your mouse. Pageviews are hits on html and php pages. Hits are on everything else that received a hit (images, downloads, files, etc.)
