Summary: When his daughter, Angela, and her friend Katherine, show signs of demonic possession, it unleashes a chain of events that forces single father Victor Fielding to confront the nadir of evil. Terrified and desperate, he seeks out Chris MacNeil, the only person alive who's witnessed anything like it before.

Thoughts?

Are you going to see this?

The original came out at a time when nobody saw anything like it. There was suspense and desent from being a normal person to a depraved, possessed monster was gradual. We went on a journey with the mother through the doctor's tests and theories about what the trouble with the child was. The book was stunning in that respect. So, as the interviews with Blatty states, the film had a sort of documentary feel about it. So, considering all of that along with all of the movies depicting demonic possession, I have my doubts about this being very scary. Unless the director has done something we haven't seen before in this movie.

I just saw it and enjoyed it. I loved the ending especially the cameo.

I saw the original when it was first released and it really was a game changer. By coincidence I just watch it again a few days ago and it still resonates 50 years on.

To be honest I'll probably go out of my way to avoid this remake. I'd far rather watch the original again.

I'm definitely going to watch one movie as soon as I get the chance. The last one that I watched was The Pope's Exorcist and it was very good. I believe that this one is going to good. I enjoy horror movies, so this is going to be a nice one.
