A few times, we have used the calender on our forum, mostly to make note of upcoming events, birthdays and other forum activities. This feature of the forum provides a fun and interactive way to notify forum members of current forum happenings. Do you use your forum's calender to schedule forum events or keep forum members to updated on what's going on? Or, do you rely more on the forum newsletter for this?

I rely more on the newsletter/announcements section for this. I've tried the calender before and it was just too much of a hassle. I didn't really care for it. Birthday wishes get posted in our "Let's Just Talk" section, and everything related to the forum in general goes in the announcements section of the site.

I've actually never used a forum calendar but perhaps it's something I should have been using all this time to keep users up to date with what will be happening in the future.

I use my boards forum calender primarily for upcoming game releases more than anything else.

I did use it in the beginning but like others said it became a hassle and I keep video game release dates posted on a board so other than for birthdays my forum calendar is useless.

There's not a calendar on my forum, but having one would sure be useful. Maybe there's a mod/add-on for it.

would be nice to add birthdays and such! =D

We never really cared about using calendars for events, other than letting users know when it's someone's birthday.

I've never actually used the forum calendar other than to keep track of birthdays, but usually the forum software does that for you. I usually just disable the entire thing now, I find it rather pointless. Birthdays are listed on the bottom of my forum, so there's no point in displaying a calendar for such. 😛

We have a calendar but there is nothing on it besides birthdays. I don't use it.
