How big is your home

I recently moved out of my 2BR apartment with my girlfriend to house-sit for family while they try to sell the house. We're taking care of the puppy & house while they go out to California to hunt for a new home / have open houses all summer.

The apartment was quite nice. You walked in to a large living room which had a large couch, TV, coffee table, etc. On the other half of the living room I set up my office with a large desk & 2 desktop monitors, a lounge chair, love-seat and an ottoman. It was a nice set up 🙂 Leaving the living room, you enter a large-ish kitchen (little counter space unfortunately though), followed by a small hallway to the backyard / bathroom / basement, with the two bedrooms having doors off of the kitchen. It was definitely the largest apartment I had, but with it being $1,300/month + utility bills, it was a bit much for my girlfriend and I with me paying 95% of it.

We're grateful to be in the family home house-sitting, but will be looking for a 1.5BR apartment to live in at the end of the summer!

The family home we are in has:
- 3.5 regular bathrooms + 1 master bathroom
- 1 master bedroom + private living room
- 4 outside decks on 2nd & 3rd floors
- 2 private offices
- 2 small living rooms on first floor, large living room on 2nd floor
- 3rd floor is a guest floor with private kitchenette
- incredibly large kitchen + dining area + living room sitting area
- 2 big bedrooms on 2nd floor, on opposite wing of the master BR
- 3 car garage
- outside patio & backyard
- front yard & driveway
- 30 second walk from beach
- the list goes on

Needless to say, my girlfriend and I feel like we are living in absolute luxury right now. I lived here for around 5 years at end of middle school / high school, so it's nice to be back. The last 7 years of 1-2 bedroom apartments made me humble though 🙂

Hmm, that's a tough one... Let me think.
Of course I have spilled things such as sauce or beans on the floor, and of course I have dealt with burning food in the oven or stove, but I can't think of anything super dangerous or catastrophic.
One time I put something in the microwave and didn't notice a little bit of tin foil on the container, but it didn't break anything.
Another time I burnt some food so badly that the pot I cooked it in was pretty much unrecoverable.
I'll tell you something though... Out of all my years of cooking, one consistent & annoying problem is the grease from bacon spitting up out of the pan and getting on the stove top, floor, walls, vent, and even my clothes. I hate when that happens, but temperature management is a concept for a reason I suppose. It's just so annoying because sometimes you really just need to crank the heat to get that good crisp we all desire! 🙂

Well, it didn't end all hats, but crowns have definitely made people stop what they are doing and stare in awe & amazement... as well as fear, disgust, or hatred too.
So I'll think a little outside the box.
I think if someone received skull & skin surgery to transform the top of their head into the shape of a hat, so the top of their head is permanently in a hat shape, people might stop what they are doing and stare. I don't know if they would be amazed, and it would only block the sun from hitting their face (but still burn their hat-head), but it would definitely be different.

I originally chose the name Ghost to hide my identity, or at least on a surface level.
I also liked the name because of Casper the friendly ghost. 🙂
And perhaps in the past I have had a tendency to ghost people or websites when I have moved on in life.

Camping or Binge Watching Shows at Home?

Both! I like a good binge of Netflix or Hulu and I definitely enjoy camping.
My girlfriend and I went camping last weekend for two nights. It was so great. $25/day, but it was so worth it. We had near unlimited firewood, miles of hiking paths near our camp, a nice river making beautiful sounds to fall asleep to, giant fire pit, picnic table, flat ground for her family's old 6 person tent, and drinks & food 🙂

I had a cute kitten, but it was rescued from the streets, not neutered and my apartment was rather small so I gave it to some pet loving friends of mine after a few weeks. I just didn't have the time to take care of her (Athena) due to my job at the time.

I definitely love dogs more, but I would rather have a cat than a dog for my next apartment just because I imagine it will be a good few years before I can afford a house & I don't really want a dog in anything other than a house with a yard.

It's not really ABOUT FP, or even a landing page... but it looks & feels like FP 🙂
Now I'm just wondering how @Cammeh could use it. Obviously it would be better to create an XF plugin to generate new pages & things, but I do wonder if there's a use for this. It could be used for some custom sub pages for example or something else. :shrug:

Not quite. I downloaded this thread page, then I had to fix all of the stylesheets, remove all the JS / buy sell ads logic / stuff that required a connection to FP. Then I had to go find some missing CSS files and put them in & then update the HTML. Then I had to remove a ton of things to make it load properly. But yes, not from scratch 🙂

My future ideally includes:

• Lovely girlfriend hopefully becomes wife
• Ideally some children like 1-2
• Continue being successful in tech/business
• Nice home
• Learn a bunch of new programming languages & be bilingual in English/Spanish

coding, talking about coding, thinking about coding
I literally have dreams about code. Those can be awful though. Sometimes I'll wake up and be half asleep, but my brain is still "in the dream" so I drift back and forth, but the code stays so I'll wake up literally problem solving a coding issue. A lot of times it's code from work or a personal project, but sometimes it is completely random... Like I'll have a dream where I need to remove an array value for waterfall because in the dream it's too rainy. It never makes sense, but the dream will involve actual PHP (well, sometimes JavaScript or SQL queries). It sounds cool, but it kind of makes my brain hurt a bit. Sometimes my girlfriend will wake me up and I'll be half-sleep talking about fixing a function or needing to check the value type. It's strange, but hopefully this answers your question 🙂

I also love watching the Patriots play American football, being with my girlfriend, driving at night, and bicycling.

Would things get better or worse if humans focused on what was going well rather than what’s going wrong?

Things would get a lot better if humans focused on what's GOING to go wrong, and what CAN go well.
We're all way too focused on the here and now, with no regard to the future.
I mean this strictly in a political & world-view sense... It's important to be mindful & focus on the present. However, we also need to be building a future for ourselves, our kids, our grandchildren... Solving the banking, climate, tech, and other issues of the future. We keep applying bandaids to current problems & calling them fixed, but we're ignoring all the harm we're doing to our futures. People are too caught up with what their bank statements are tomorrow, what the temperature is today, and what internet corps are doing today. We're all gonna be in a bad spot if we don't look forward and try to make predictions / try to avoid issues. There's a reason all the time traveling movies go back in time to fix things instead of forward. We're way too eager to try to solve the past and enjoy life in the present, but if we developed a pattern of solving the present to enjoy the future then we wouldn't have to look back as much.
