Just came out today. I saw it a few hours ago.

I actually liked this movie a lot. I went to see the 3D (got tricked into it). I was super impressed. Did not realize it was about that and now it makes me want to read the damned book too.

I remember being assigned this book in school...not one of the more interesting ones, if memory suits me right. Don't know if I'd want to see the movie so badly.

I honestly don't think you needed to even enjoy the book to enjoy the movie. Weird, I know, but that was my experience. I read the book back when I was in high school and HATED it, but there was something about the trailers for the movie that drew me in so I ended up seeing it. I thought it was fantastic and they did an excellent job with it. So much so that I actually feel as though I should go back to re-read the book.

True, but then sometimes you run into cases where the movie can be a lot better than the book and vice versa.
