I don't know how people figure that a million pirated copies is a million lost sales. I don't pirate movies, and I don't buy them, either. It's too expensive, and movies now are all remakes.

It's still theft, though. Intellectual property theft. There are already more than enough laws about it, though.

I wish everyone would chill out on piracy. Mostly those abusing it. But the biggest abusers of piracy are hollywood. In fact, every single motion picture to have every come out is a direct result of piracy. Thomas Edison patented his technology yet Hollywood came to being by infringing on those patents, meaning that every movie ever produced in Hollywood is pirated material.

Gimgak, it's only bad when private individuals commit "crimes." When corporations do it, it's called "innovation."

In other news, open source software companies and nonprofits can actually sue Mircosoft and make them release partial source code of the bootup process of Windows 7.

It's not just when huge companies violate property laws. In addition, intellectual property expires.

But if I were to make a game and charge money for it and you download it illegally, you ARE taking my product and most likely using it without me getting anything for making it.
