The Horror Forums

First Impressions
[note]========== BEGIN - First Impressions ==========[/note]
First Impressions are very important, this is one of the things that helps a visitor to decide if they will join the forum or not. If I was a horror nut, I'd join your forum straight off the bat because of the first impression it gave me. You have a logo that isn't over complicated, but still looks good and the header is awesome. I can see all the way down only to the "General Horror" forum and it's post information, it was last posted in 5 hours ago which makes your forum look active at the first glance. I'm not too keen on the advertisement, but you may not be able to remove it. I'd also like to add that if I had a larger screen, like some visitors may have - the first impression could be ruined for them because the "Television Horror" forum hasn't been posted in since the 3rd. I suggest that you attempt to generate activity in that forum.

Site Statistics

For a forum that was only opened in December 2014, it's doing well. There are already 1559 posts and 152 threads. This may not be the fastest of forums when it comes to statistics and activity, but it is still very respectable. All but one of the forums have been posted in either today or yesterday, apart from the "Television Horror" forum. I think that you should post some more content in that forum and maybe that will encourage posting. Since I can't see the amount of posts/threads in each forum on the index page, I scanned through all of the horror based forums and they seem to have a respectable amount of threads each. As far as the statistics go, you're getting somewhere.

Site Structure

From the beginning, many forum owners (especially new owners) overload their forum with many categories and forums. You haven't done that, which is great to see. Instead, you have made a few forums that make up the big things that you'd want to discuss on a horror forum. I also like that you haven't overloaded "The Safe Zone" and you've tried to mix it up instead of putting a community forum at the top and the off-topic forums at the bottom. although I prefer it that way, the way you've done it works.
Final Remarks
I really like the Horror Forums, it's original and it's not something that you see everyday advertised on Forum Promotion or see on the internet. It's nice that you've given people a forum to discuss the horror genre as a whole rather than concentrating on a certain aspect of horror. I wish you the best of luck with the forum, and if I ever want to discuss anything I've seen regarding horror, I'll be sure to visit THF.
