I don't know much about appliances but I am posting this because we recently bought an inverter air conditioner. As the blurb in the brochure said, we can save 40% in electric consumption. However, the cost of this inverter air conditioner is double the tag price of the regular one, i.e. 34,000 that we bought against the 17,000 (figures in Philippine pesos). This is my question about it - why is the cost of the inverter that much when practically they have the same parts? Or is the cost just a consideration of the new technology?
