Some 2 weeks ago, there was the hype of the so called plastic rice found in the Philippine markets. The social media was abuzz with videos showing a hand making a ball out of cooked rice and tossing it on the ground. The ball of rice bounced which bolstered the claim in the video that it is fake rice. The National Food Authority tried to look up the makers of such videos and asked for samples and also the identification of the store where they bought the rice. To make the story short, the videos turned out to be fake and the rice they examined were all real rice. Now this question, why did those people spread such false information?
