Waste of money. I used to buy scatchcards. Use to win a fair bit on them. But I dont work at the place where I got them frequently, so now i dont have the urge of buying them. Turns into abit of a habit. And not a good one.
I don't play the lottery anymore myself, my mum used to buy me a ticket every week with numbers that I chose when I was too young to buy but since I have become old enough to buy myself I have never really bothered only really on the odd occasion, when my mum was buying for me prior to me being old enough I remember sometimes winning £10 every few weeks but now when I play I never seem to get a number, they say you have to be in it to win it but I don't know the numbers never seem random enough anymore when they are drawn.
I never bought a lottery ticket. But, I buy them if I work at a place where all the employees buy it since I wouldn't want to be the only one who did not buy them and got nothing if the employees won the lottery with the lottery pool money which I did not contribute to.
