To be honest, I think you need to customise your style a bit more, since at present, it's just default phpBB with a background image I can barely see and a fairly basic logo. I do like the idea of a Mario Kart forum though, so good choice on the concept.

I am working on the skins and detail, although I'm not much of a Graphic Artist either, I'll try out some skins and make it look good.

looks nice, I like Mario so, it can't be otherwise, anyway, is there a way that you set the background to fixed or somethnig bigger because tiles like this makes it messy, just my opinion
