There's also the show Bates Motel which is a prequel and that's a really cool show.
I've seen that series, but it kind of got too ridiculous, so I stopped watching after the first season.
I've watched it. I liked it at the time.
I think it was well done. if I recall correctly, it starts a bit slow but once you get to certain point, things really go in a very nice pace.
I liked that it knew how to make you feel uneasy. I didn't realize just how many bits and pieces I've saw in other media were actually parodies or homage to the movie. It was a very important film for the industry.

I watched it for the first time a few years ago and loved it! I know it's one of my wife's favorite films of all time. It goes in a direction you don't expect it to, that's all I'll say.
The original movie is a masterpiece, I've seen it multiple times. Even today it's considered to be one of the greatest films of all time.
I was quite young when I saw it for the first time and found it to be genuinely disturbing. It may seem quite tame by today's standards but it really pushed boundaries back in the early 60's.
