Usually, if I need local news, I watch "24 Hour News 8" on WISH-TV channel 8, a former CBS station (now an affiliate of The CW), but their current owner (Media General) is selling the station to a company known for changing stations to operate on shoestring operations (Nexstar Broadcasting), so I'll probably stop watching them soon.
Otherwise, I usually just go online unless a special report breaks in to programming.
I also follow day to day news every day. My typical day starts with 30 minutes reading the new paper after hearig to the Morning 7:00 news. Then I finish the day by listening to the news debate hour at 8:00 PM and then the news at 9 PM
I watch the local news, and whatever is on FOX if I'm bored. I pretty rarely watch the news anymore, though. I don't like that many TV shows nowdays, and I've found that the internet is a lot better.
I listen to the No Agenda Podcast, mostly. I also read Drudge Report, and watch the local news channels (KING-5 mostly. It's the local Seattle NBC affiliate).
I don't update myself on news daily but watch/listen/read it at least a few times a week to stay on top of local and global current events. For local, I watch the local news, and for everything else I'm subscribed to a few online newspapers and watch BBC, Fox, and Al Jazeera. I'f I'm looking to hear others opinion about whatever the news topic is I'll normally search for a blog or forum thread.
