I never experienced any downtime with FP. They have not had any downtime in a while. I would make sure its not just you.

It shouldn't really have caused the site to be inaccessible though for a prolonged period of time.

Eh, could be better. My Mom had knee surgery done today, so I've been up since 4:30 this morning. It went well though, so that's all that matters. ^^
