Ouch. AP classes..eww. I don't really see a point in honors or ap classes.
I mean they help..but if you get an A in regular or an A in AP..that's not going to be the deciding factor of getting into a good college. Just my opinion though.
I've never taken Advanced Placement classes myself, but I have heard that they can and do boost up your GPA, which will help in the long run when it comes time for graduation. I think how it works is, say if you get a 95 on a quiz or examination, they would bump it up to, I think it's like 105 or something like that, simply because it's a harder class. Probably explained that stupidly, but that's my understanding of it.
I've done a lot of Applied classes in my time in high school, like Applied Communications (English), Applied Math, etc. I think those are basically easier versions of the regular English and math classes You still cover the same material as your peers do in regular classes, but it's presented more in a way to the point where the work isn't as overwhelming or difficult as it would be in the regular classes. I'm not even sure if that's the right term, and I think I threw my schedules out after HS graduation, otherwise I'd look them up. Our school does have a Website, though, so I could go look it up on that, I guess. Not now, because it's getting late and I have to work tomorrow, but I'll see if I can look it up when I come home again.
