There are a few new features. Users can now report bad PM's just like you can with posts. There is also some nice new features for us admins. The PM section of the UCP also looks slightly different aswell.
There is also now feeds although i don't know how/if we are going to use them. Other then that you probably won't notice anything else.
The board went offline yesterday to prep for the update then went offline a couple of hours ago for the actual update.

I did say it only looked slightly different. It is just a minor appearance change. The feeds we never had before today. We might have them enabled for the whole forum or just certain forums or not at all.
The admin changes are pretty good. A CAPTCHA plugin system and it takes only seconds to install a new anti spam measure to make sign up different from default. It should mean less spam now (hopefully). There is also Cache Plugins although our host don't have any of installed we so we can't use them. I hope the CAPTCHA isn't real hard to read, though. When registering on forums doing packages, some of the CAPTCHAS are a bit difficult to read due to the noise in the background of the image.

It depends which one you have and what configuration you have it set as. The non gd version is easy to read but bots can get past it easily. The gd version on simple settings is easy to read but bots can also work out what the letters are. As you turn on the extra features on the gd version and up the noise it will get harder and harder for users but it also gets harder for bots to crack. With that method you need to find a suitable balance between stopping spam but making it easy for users to read. Some people don't do that though and set it as high as possible. We used to have a question and answer mod here. Now there is also a Q&A plugin by default in phpBB3.0.6 along with Recaptcha so hopefully less people will use the GD CAPTCHA so it should be easier to sign up on packages as people will be using more user friendly methods.
We have added a sortable CAPTCHA where there is a load of words and you need to drag them in the correct columns. It is just like the Q&A mod but a bit more complicated to crack as they have to be moved to the right section not typed into a box and you need to get every word in the right column. Additionally the order of the words change so if that question and list comes up again the options will be in a different order. It also makes it easier for humans as they don't have to stare at a load of messed up colours with hidden text.

Yeah, what I can see of it. I am not bothering to sign up, since I would never be active, can't access your site at school, where I do most of my online stuffs, so yeah. But I like the layout and design and such.
