Why not? Should try http://pidgin.im . Its what I use...Faster and can set up multiple accounts.

Eh, all I know is. It has something to do with some wacky file on the computer user account I'm using on my home comp. I've made a secondary account and it seems like things work better there. I just haven't tried the MSN thing yet.
