There's always a few members who use 's for plurals.

e.g.:

Button's
Smilie's
Forum's
Member's
Et cetera.

What do you think of these types of people?

They dont know proper grammar! 🙁

On one forum I'm on where my username is "C0smic1", there's this guy who calls me "C0's"... Never understood why,

It really reflect's badly on their education, as opposed to on them as individual's.

Kidding me? I teach my kid's not to use apostrophe's when there is no need. 🙂

On the forum's I own, I don't mind when my member's use apostrophe's to indicate if somethings plural, ect.

If you are worried about plurals, what about people who use contractions?

ex:
don't = do not
I'm = I am
he'll = he will
who's = who is
shouldn't = should not
didn't = did not
could've= could have (NOT "could of"!)
'60 = 1960

This is a serious crime. These people should be put in jail and never allowed to post bail or be released on probation.

Or even worse, "ain't". 😛

My HUGE pet peeve is people who mix up the term "thread" and "forum". Example:

"I suggest you post this kind of forum in the community discussion thread"

I hate those people! :angry:

Contractions were created to make speaking more smoothly, they were not intended for use in writing.

That's one difference between American English and any other form of English. 😛

It's not a major issue for me. I know some very successful and wealthy business people who have poor grammar and spelling skills. Their opinions and advice have great value and I'd be delighted to have it on my forums.

Richard Branson is dyslexic, I'd love to have him posting on my business forum, even if he made the odd spelling or grammar mistake.

As for contractions, I use them myself and don't understand why anyone would have an issue with them?

Personally, bad grammar ticks me off, especially the whole apostrophe thing. I don't mention it to anyone, but the only excuse for poor English skills is if you're dyslexic or English isn't your first language. I think that, other than that, consistent errors are a result of pure laziness.

Then again, I am very strict about this.
