First Impressions - (Out of 20)
At first glance, I love the way your forum looks. Everything is neatly organized and easy to navigate through. The logo is simple and straight-forward, making it very nice and matches with your skin.
The only thing I would change is the highlighted words at the top ("click here to register," "Blogs," "Arcade," "Chatroom," "Photo Gallery") I would leave them un-highlighted as they look kind of out of place.

I think the layout is well-done. It's nice, neat and organized. The number of boards & categories is just right! Too many would make your forum look inactive. I personally would just remove the Guest forums altogether though. I don't see it necessary, and I'll guarantee you that you won't get much posts in those boards. 🙂

I keep the guest area more or less just in case. I doubt it hurts our registration any as guests ought to understand it's purpose so it is mostly just a moderation concern as a dirty spammer could hurt the board's reputation.. But we have moderators in many time zones that watch the area so it is well covered.
I'm currently working on a new style that gets rid of the issues you noticed with the links.. Though I am still working on it.. I think the more I notice wrong and fix, the more stuff pops up that I don't like.. ugh..
