Comedy comes from the absurd. OK, in the past, the US was more conservative - so there was much for liberals to amuse people. However, nowadays, the west is more liberal - so conservatives are the rebels. Well, not always. You can always make fun of Facebook conservative commentators - mainly because they post too much (too pompous) - just like the liberals do the same!
