funny...in texas last year, everything was closed for 2 inches of snow!
2 INCHES XD. We've had over 10 and our school's still open today. Only delayed.

at least that's what i hear on the tv. where i live, over 8 inches of snow will probably cause a snow day...

hope it snows in the next three weeks so school can be closed!

Snowed a little bit more today...it was kind of snaking around on the highways, but still no accumulation or anything that would worry me on the way to school! I actually do remember spotting my school on the closed list last year (probably more than my high school...), I guess it's a perk of going to a commuter school 😛

It's Summer here so if there's any then I will be VERY freaked out.

From 2005, about 1/4 mile from where I lived. About 36"-40" at my house in about a day.

Wonder if you live nearby where I live, or if that was just a bad winter. I believe it was that year, in southern Indiana, we had three feet of snow. Just about everything was shut down, it usually snows an inch or two at most around here. Last year we had a few good snows of 4-5 inches, and the year before that (I think, maybe that same year) we had a huge ice storm, like three inches of solid ice covered everything. And since the area was not equipped for that sort of thing, many many people were without heat or power for days, some as much as a week, and the shelters were overflowing. We usually don't get any snow until January and February, rarely does it snow before the end of the year, and usually its just some flurries, nothing major.

I'm in Massachusetts, that blizzard in '05 was one of the worst the state ever had. Couple years before that we had an ice storm in Connecticut just like you described. Some people were without power for 10 days, with CL&P being so backed up.

Hm..funny how such similar things can happen in two places pretty far apart! Could have been the same storm even.

It snowed here yesterday, only a very light coat that was gone by the afternoon. And we were getting flurries a little bit ago..nothing it sticking or accumulating though. I'm sure we will have worse in Janurary. I am not excited about it.

We now have 4 foot of snow here now
The schools are shut and there is not public transport
So i am snowed in just now

It snows just about every day but nothing is sticking at all. I was in Ohio on Sunday and they have some nice coverage the farther south I went.

We've had a decent bit, but it's all powdery and won't stick. Had some two hour delays this week though. 🙂

We're expected to have a Southern Storm Sunday. They usually cause the power to go out, and cause trees to fall.

Yea, it's really not. Last year, our power was out for 3 days (some places near us were out for 2 weeks) and our phone was out for 4 days.

Snow was really Bad up in this part of En Eccosse! But now it is Starting to Melt. 🙁

Most snowfall so far today! I think we got around 5 inches, which is less than the predicted 8.

Did you hear about the Metrodome roof collapsing? Personally, I think you're kind of asking for it if you have an inflatable roof in Minnesota...
