Do you have to register to see the forums? If so that is a shame as I can't comment on it that much.

I have just disabled the admin control so that you can have a look at the layout, I am going to add a few more articles to the topics so that they don't look so empty... I agree I need a new banner, this is my first attempt at a forum so please bear that in mind also!!

FreeForums will bust you for those Ads you've put in your header. They will close your forum down without warning you...trust me, i used to be support staff there ~wink~

Also on the subject of FreeForums, i would change host whilst you're still small. FreeForums make lots of promises and break them, and they'll also rip you off with everything from buying a domain name to moving your forum to a new host.

As christian says, freeforums isn't great. Also, the site IMO looks unprofessional with no capital letters. I am also irritated at the no access to the forums as a guest.

The banner is also too small

Thanks for the input, I have not put any ads on the forum at all, which ones do you mean - there are SO many, When I viewed as a guest I was amazed at the 'choose which offers you want' which is why I put in the portal welcome not that I have no control over them and do not earn any money from them....

I have been looking at other peoples forums and do want to move - but will I lose all my members and posts if I do that?? I don't want to upset the people that have become members and posted with me - any advice??

WOW what makes you so overly critical - your post comes across like you have a personal problem with me or something!!!!

I am new to having my own forum and accept all advice graciously, the title was done by freeforums from the site address, I cannot change it or do not know how to change it, I however do think it looks professional in its lay out and style. As for access, the site has the lowest possible setting - none - I turnd the admin approval and the member approval off so I don't know why you can't see the forum, but don't you think irritated is a bit harsh!!!! The banner is fine for my needs I do not want to blind or dazzle my members when they enter the site - and as I said I am new to forum hosting so this is still a work in process..

I find your comment extremley harsh, and note from others replies that this is not the general feeling - but thank you for replying to my post.

What? I'm honest on my comments about forums. I will say the skin looks nice. However i hate having hardly any access as a guest. I want to have a look at the forums before I join, and i can't see the forum's statistics. This genre of forum doesn't suit me anyway. Good luck!

I thought i saw some Ads in the welcome message, on the other hand i may have been getting myself confused with another topic ~lol~

As for moving host, FreeForums charge you $30 or £15 for a copy of your forum's database (which contains the structure, users, topics, posts etc etc...). You'll then have to go through the hassle of finding a new host that will actually allow you to upload your own database.

I agree, the amount of Ads FreeForums put on your forum is truly shocking. Considering they used to be Ad-Free, they're done a brilliant job turning themselves into one of the best hosts, into one of the worst.

My advice to you would be to scrap your forum as it is now (not that there's anything wrong with the actual layout / content), and start again on a better host. Perhaps one that runs phpBB3 ~smile~

I wasn't bumping I was answering posts - should I only do this every 48 hr too??

(I am not being sarcastic here - if you look I have answered-I don't know how or if you can multi quote on here)

As for the neg rep given to me - completley uneccesary - you can afford it and I am surprised you don't have a lot more for your 'honesty'!!
