I had read a column in the technology page of a magazine that says the tablet is getting more popular and laptop users are shifting to the tablet. By logic, I can agree to that because the laptop is pretty heavy. In our last travel abroad, I had seen in the airport some guys carrying a heavy bag that was obviously containing a laptop. What if it was a tablet? I also have a laptop but I carry along a borrowed tablet when I travel abroad, that is for my convenience. Do you think laptop users will turn to the tablet for convenience?
I like the touchscreen functionality of the tablet. But the laptop I like better because I prefer keyboards for important work like updating our site, writing, etc. I think the tablet is fine for shopping online or social media. But you can't get serious work done on it. At least I can't.
Tablets are more lightweight, very portable to carry and be handy, and what my son like much about it is the touchscreen. Sometimes though I feel that it quietly makes people lazy and have less of physical activity. That's why I bring my kids to playgrounds and football fields once in a while. I let them join kiddie parties and I buy activity toys.
uhm... I steel like the feel of the physical keyboard rather than the regular touch screen. Also, I think the tablet fits in with things like shopping, social networking updates ... The important thing to do is work with laptops.
