Sequel short story to "The lonely ant named You.".

I walked, I was banished, I was a slave. I was You, the ant. I am still You and I am only an ant, but I have accomplished so many things in the last few years.

Not only are benefits for ants substantially improved, our acceptance in society is absolute. We are equals to the bees and even the evil Queens of bee cities acknowledge us as an important race.

While we may not be able to fly, us ants are strong. The best thing about all of this is that after the ants rebelled, so did the worms, flies, and other races! We are all looked at as actual beings. It no longer matters where we come from, what race we are, or how many letters and pollen we can carry.

In fact pollen does not even rule the world anymore! The bees have opened their markets, included us in governmental decisions and valued our opinions. There is no such thing as a bee city. It is simply a city.

It is amazing. The current debate right now is whether we should continue on our path of leadership by inheritance, or if we should grant positions by votes. Furthermore, each province will have their own leader of sorts. A queen selected by vote won’t even have the possibility of ruling over the entire city. And better yet, the queen does not just have to be a bee! There is also such thing as a king. It is simply the name we give a male if he is voted into the highest leadership position.

I am running for kingship at the moment and hopefully will win. I think I will bring great things as long as I do not forget where I have come from. Never can I forget my journey, and life once was. I will never be like the drunken bee who enslaved me. Never shall I stoop to the low level that the evil queens from years ago felt comfort in.

My journey was tough, but worth it. I could have chosen to just get by and accept that life would always be the same. I did not do that. I stood up for my rights. I pushed for the acceptance of ants, and all other “inferior” races. It was something I will never forget.

The unfortunate problem is that becoming king only applies to the city I reside in and the others within a few miles. There are still poorly run cities West and East. The ants there are beaten and enslaved. I plan to change that.

I think I will first begin with the city that provides a negative experience the most. It is not too far from here and the ants are seriously deprived. The bees fly around, high on power and superiority. That ought to change.

If you want to help you can. The name of the oppressed city is called Earth. Hopefully the citizens of Earth can stand up for THEIR rights, like I did, someday.
