The World's Funniest Joke

In 2001, a man by the name of Richard Wiseman created a website called LaughLab. This website would serve as an experiment to see if they could find the world's funniest joke. After about a year of joke submissions and rating from users, they finally found the funniest joke the world has ever seen. Here it is:

Two hunters are out in the woods when one of them collapses. He doesn't seem to be breathing and his eyes are glazed. The other guy whips out his phone and calls the emergency services. He gasps, "My friend is dead! What can I do?". The operator says "Calm down. I can help. First, let's make sure he's dead." There is a silence, then a shot is heard. Back on the phone, the guy says "OK, now what?"

There you have it! The World's Funniest Joke! What are your thoughts? Did you get a laugh out of it? Is it actually funny?

I think humor is mostly about context though. It's really hard to say "the following thing I am about to tell you is really funny," you know what I mean? 😛 And most jokes told by comedians are funny because they are told by someone who has good delivery. Written down words don't carry that as well, unless there's context to make it funny (like if it's in a book for example, or if a comedian tweets about a current event or something).

It's sad but a bit funny at the same time. 😛
