The worst kind of spam is one word replies. Such as a uneeded reply of "Thanks; Good; Great; Gotcha". These are used to spam their post count up.

I set my text charecter limit

I can't stand posts such as 'ice age 3'. It has no meaning and needs to be full of bigger words than 'ice age 3'. Someone posted it on my board so I decided to use it as an example.

I installed a mod which sets a minimum word of your choice.

5 words is an adequate minimum in my opinion.

I use the "Thanks" all the time, but these are on Photography forums, I do it as a means of not only saying thank you for looking but also to acknowledge that I see that they said something.

In my opinion subtle trolling is far worse than single post replies, mainly posts which are fabricated to only offend a certain member but staff wouldn't catch the inside joke, but back on topic, they don't get on my nerves too much. People just saying "thanks" and so forth is acceptable to me, though at some point it does get ridiculous. What really gets me is when people do this on posting packages/exchanges.

I disagree. If people are having a conversation and their response calls for just one word, like "yes" or "no" or "thanks" or whatever else, its not spam.

True and False.

It just depends what context they are putting it in. On my graphics forum, if some one replies "Nice" to a graphics, I would consider that as spam. If the topic starter wants ratings and comments etc., a simple "thanks" to a comment would seem appropriate. I mean, something like "thank you so much", sort of sounds sarcastic.
