They're destroying our planet

...when what? When you rattle off a bunch of fantasies & hypotheticals? My points here are based in reality, based on the systems that are currently in place. When actual change happens and humans aren’t contributing to the destruction of the planet in any shape or form, I’ll concede. Sadly, I don’t think that’s ever going to happen. At least not in our lifetimes.

No one is speaking about fantasy here. We're just discussing small incremental improvements that make a difference.

Take the Clean Air Act as an example. When it was passed, people said that one nation trying to reduce air pollutants wouldn't make a difference. But look at how much of a difference is makes: https://www.epa.gov/clean-air-act-overview/benefits-and-costs-clean-air-act

There won't be a magic pill to solve our issues. But that doesn't mean humanity should give up.

Yep. Clean air is very important. So are clean parks, clean streets, clean land. If we can reduce litter, and reduce garbage that is dropped into the oceans and land of our environment, we can do SOMETHING. Or we can keep telling ourselves we’re already dead, and we certainly will die. Heck, our star is going to wink out some day. That shouldn’t stop us from improving the world around us today.

Help me understand your perspective here.

Well, the title of this thread “They’re destroying our planet” and your posts here make it sound like everyone else is the problem. It’s hypocritical to point the finger at everyone else when you’re destroying our planet too, right now as we speak (see my previous post for examples of how you’re doing that). You can’t just absolve yourself of any guilt until you (as I said) move out into the middle of the woods and live off the land. 😛

Oh yeah, I recall that you’re a Trump supporter. How can you support a president who seems to want to fast track our impending doom?

Here’s a sample of some of the things he did so far:

- Approved the Dakota Access pipeline.

- Revoked a rule that prevented coal mining companies from dumping debris into local streams.

- Canceled a requirement for reporting methane emissions.

- Approved the Keystone XL pipeline.

- Lifted a freeze on new coal leases on public lands.

- Rejected a ban on a potentially harmful insecticide.

- Withdrew guidance for federal agencies to include greenhouse gas emissions in environmental reviews.

- Ordered review and "elimination" of rule that protected tributaries and wetlands under the Clean Water Act.

- Reopened a review of fuel-efficiency standards for cars and trucks.

- Ordered "immediate re-evaluation" of the Clean Power Plan.

- Rolled back limits on toxic discharge from power plants into public waterways.

- Ordered review of rule limiting methane emissions at new oil and gas drilling sites.

- Ordered review of offshore drilling policies and regulations.

- Withdrew a rule that would help consumers buy more fuel-efficient tires.

- Voted to revoke limits on methane emissions on public lands.

- Delayed a rule aiming to increase safety at facilities that use hazardous chemicals.

- Delayed rules increasing energy efficiency standards for some appliances and some federal buildings.

- Delayed a lawsuit over a rule regulating airborne mercury emissions from power plants.

The lure of green hosting is the fact the regular type makes either the same or more pollution as the airline industry. Any thoughts?

It is a sad day when websites destroy the planet. All people should be required to use hosting that is good for our planet and does not produce unrecyclable waste
