Stop, look and listen!

Put this into your imagination: You just recently started playing Call of Duty on the Xbox. Yet, you have no idea how to earn those 5,000 credits to earn that new Ak47. Now, you decide to Y̶a̶h̶o̶o̶ Google it! You go on B̶i̶n̶g Google and type, "Fastest credits black ops". Now, what would you do in that situation:

1. Go to page 17 and click on the forum titled callofdutyforumz.info.
2. Check the first page and click the most reasonable result.
3. Call your friend up after realising that Black Ops is atrocious.

All of you would have chosen 2.

Now, here's the problem. The introduction you just read is useless, not necessary for this topic and completely off-topic of what this article will be about. (See how reason 3 is the same as reason 2, also unnecessary).

Well said bud. What a powerful statement.

"Think as a user, not as a developer."

That is absolutely true. If you think as a user you ask your self "What do I want in a forum?" and as an Administrator you do that!

Thanks for the feedback, highly appreciated. Users will benefit if the owner follows such a simple trick.

I agree with it. And once you create any site, you need to think from a user's view, whether your site will be easy to navigate and use.
Because most of your audience might not be pro's in web. And most likely, they wont go to a site which is hard to navigate, and where its hard for them to see what they want.

Thanks for the feedback mate. 🙂

Absolutely agree with you. Usually I add a double account so that I can see the site from a user's prospective and catch things I wouldn't as an Admin.
Great article.

Great article Elite! As I was reading I was going, "Yep, I do that!", to almost everything. I have always thought from a users view and actually hardly ever think of myself as an administrator. Sometimes I actually have to physically go into the ACP to prove to myself that I am an admin. 😀

Great technique, thanks for the feedback.
