Thinking of donating to charity. But which charity?

I'm thinking of donating a percentage of sales to charity.
But I need your help on choosing a charity from the pile.
There are so many. All are trying to help in one way or another.
Sadly, I cannot support them all, so which one would be the best?
Also, what percentage do you think would be a fair amount to donate?

For monthly plans, donations will be made monthly. Annually will be made annually.

Well that's what I'm thinking about anyway.

I personally would go for something in my country, if it were me. A lot of New Zealanders forget about poverty in our country and instead donate to overseas causes. Then again- we are the second most generous nation on the planet. 🙂

Something local would help out a lot if the dollar amounts are only small and you will get to see where the money is going.

Maybe a sports team, or laptops in schools or something.

I already do to a local charity from the hosting sales...
I think donating to a local charity,(which you are acquainted with) would be better.
