Thoughts on GF

So as my forum approaches it's 7th birthday, I would like any feedback on it and the more helpful/detailed it is, it may earn you some rep and FP or a review on your site.

I always liked your site and I'm member there also!

short feedback! your colour combinations are perfectly matched, and an added bonus to users like myself who tends to stay away from darker background an option to chose a lighter background plus few other themes.

btw the title of the thread Thoughts on GF lol!! I thought well get to see your GF and you want our opinion on her instead!!

Hey Demon I just had a quick little look, but first well done on having your forum up and running for seven years thats a feat in itself.

For me the forum looks like a typical gaming forum, now there are pro and cons for that, one being that you know your on a gaming forum and you have the feel of a gaming forum and theme matches up with with the genre.

The cons I guess is that it could be more original, I find the banner a bit to ordinary, maybe try and get a custom one made for your seventh year, that would be pretty cool.

Otherwise keep up the great work, and I hope you reach your tenth. 🙂

Congratulations on completing 7 years with your forum. I am sure you journey would have been amazing and very much eventful. All these years with it, I understand the views of a person outside GF would be less valuable, but I will give it a shot.

1. I was wondering why the default domain never led me to the website. I understand if you have a reason/is trying to be different, but I would expect a default domain to lead into a homepage (if any) and then to the forum (like FP)

2. The New users are given a combination of blue that rarely goes with black. Its a strain on the eye and reading the footer of GF is a little daunting. (Too many blues)

3. I am of the view that the 'Gamer Hangout' forum should be moved to the 'Other Chat' category.

4. Different favicons for website and forums?

These are only small little things in which you have scope for improvement but I should stress the point that you have pulled off an amazing work and I truly can see why your community is enjoying GF.

1. website is kind of like the site portal and the main focus is the forum which is why the forum has the default domain.

2. yeah I know I need to change this color. I think I will get this done this week.

3. from my reasoning, it's a place for members to come together and do things closely together like games and stuff making it forum related.

4. you saying it's a bad thing? with different favicons it makes it clear to know what you have up on your tabs or in your bookmark if it's the forum or website.

I am not sure if I like the idea of two different favicon for website and the forum. It gives me a bizarre feeling of both of these belong two separate entities. But as long as you and your community are fine, I see no reason to change it.
