Thoughts on renewal?

What are your thoughts on the renewal process for IPB to even download addons?

I renew every six months for the last 6 years, very expensive over time but without renewing you won't get the support, updates, server help and more

Seems to be the way everyone is going, so I can't say much about it. Plus if I use their product, I don't really expect to just stop paying them and keep using it.

I renew when I need to. There is no need to pay the renewal fee when they’re doing very minimal updates. Wait until there’s something worthwhile to upgrade to.

IPB is already expensive when you go to purchase a new license, and it's expensive even renewing since you've got to renew every six months if you want the latest updates. I don't use IPB, but I would just renew whenever I had the cash and not every six months since that's around $150 if you purchase every single app. If it's just the forum it's still $40 every six months and that's way more expensive than the competition since they only charge you once every year to renew.
