I don't like that YouTube increased the word limit in the comments since I'm seeing a lot of longer spam comments, and overly wordy comments.

The threaded comments are pretty nice since it makes it easier for me to follow conversations related to the video.

I think the new G+ commenting system may prevent people from leaving as many Troll/cyberbully comments on YouTube videos since you now need a Google+ account to post comments, and people are usually more well behaved when using social networks to posts since it is harder to hide behind a fake username because it is against the terms of service to use fake names in many social networks, and they don't want their social networking friends like their mother, boyfriend, or girlfriend that they cyberbully people on YouTube.

Absolutely hate it. I'm never going to use Google +, so I guess that means I can never comment on a Youtube video ever again.

I hope Google + bombs miserably for screwing over loyal Youtube users.

First off, just gaze at that beautiful run-on sentence. 😛

But really, I do agree with you. On the other hand though, I don't know many people who use G+ at all. I only have it for a few friends that do, and because I use Chrome.

Google Plus is not a bad of a social network once you get used to it, and find people with similar interest through fan pages on Google Plus. I found a few cool fan pages on Google Plus with interesting conversations.

G+ is kind of like LinkedIn, but without the job search and career theme of LinkedIn.

I personally feel G+ is better than bigger social networks where they gets a lot of negative attention from trolls who cyberbully, stalk, and pretend to be someone else online without their permission.

Combining the YouTube comments with Google Plus may bring more viewers to video creators because people who browse Google Plus may start watching videos on YouTube after they saw G+ members comments, shares, and likes which other G+ members posted to Google Plus via YouTube Comments. Also, it makes finding old comments members posted to YouTube easier since they are also re-posted to their Google Plus profile.

The problem I have is simple; I didn't sign up to Google +, I signed up to Youtube. I shouldn't need an account on the former to merely use a couple of the features of the latter.

It'd be like if you had to register on a different forum to post on Forum Promotion. Ridiculous.

Making a Google Plus is not really hard since you already have one by being a Gmail/Google member because all YouTube members use their Google Gmail account and password to sign-in to YouTube, and making a Google+ account is easy for people with a Gmail account.

I think there is even a way to keep your existing channel name on YouTube for when you post comments.

Using G+ to post comments on YouTube is not very inconvenient since you use your existing gmail username, and password to sign-in to make a comment, so you don't need to sign up for a new username, password, and fill out other info.

I don't see the issue with creating a G+ account and not doing anything with it besides commenting on youtube videos. I don't agree with Google forcing people to use a G+ account, but it has happened and we have to deal with it. But why woulod you refuse to quickly create a G+ account so you can comment on youtube? Do you think you will have to use the G+ account all the time?

What I don't like about the change is that you cannot reply to comments that were made prior to the change.

I consider the meaning most important. So by me not using Youtube comments any more, and hopefully more people doing the same, I hope Google will eventually back down and change their mind.

Which should happen eventually. The amount of comments I see on Youtube now seems to have dropped enormously.

The YouTube comments on YouTube is dropping for videos, but the comments and views from Google Plus from videos shared on Google Plus after YouTube commenters comment on videos is rising.

The comments for videos on G+ maybe greater than YouTube in the long run since Google Plus is one of the fastest growing social networks because all Google Android smartphones and tablets need a Google account for downloading apps, and all Android phones come pre-installed with the Google Plus App, and a bookmark to Google Plus's website.

Also, Google may also want video creators to create a Google Plus fanpage, Blogspot blog, and forums to allow people to comment on them from the creators' own website which has Adsense ads, and also get traffic from Bing, Yahoo, and other search engines which will increase the views for videos and revenue for Google.
