Does anyone use Threads? I've been thinking about looking into it more to try, and get more links/social traffic.

Has Threads help you grow your communities?

I've been using it to promote my hiking brand, not really any forums.

So far, I find Threads to be just a competitor of X that really didn't take off.

In fact, in anything, it's becoming a haven for folks who are disgruntled about Instagram's dominant lean on reels versus photos. A lot of photographers who helped make IG what it is today feel pretty betrayed over that one.

I was able to get some traffic from Threads yesterday and one new user. I’ll likely be using the app more frequently.

Digging deeper into the app, searching for users discussing topics in your niche, and engaging with them is a good way to attract them to your forum.

The fact that Threads is connected to the Fediverse helps, as your content will be shared with other sites in the network, especially if you opt in and allow them to share your content on the Fediverse.

There are many users who are using Threads as a replacement for Instagram, as @Shawn Gossman stated. So, it takes a while to find actual engagement on the app that doesn’t involve pictures.

I post more on posts then threads, and I do not know Why XD

Am I the only one who thinks Threads has no audience?
According to Meta, they’ve grown by 35 millions in the past month. I actually wonder how many of these users are active though.

Meta’s Threads has accrued over 35 million signups so far in November and is “going on three months with more than a million signups a day,” Meta spokesperson Alec Booker told The Verge in an email today.
20 million of those signups have come since November 14th, as Axiosnotes. That’s on top of the 15 million that Instagram head Adam Mosseri said it had gathered in the two weeks prior.

I tried it but it doesn't really offer anything different to Twitter so I binned it. It's like Bluesky. They're not going to challenge Twitter's dominance despite Elon Musk's best efforts.

I have account but I have not used it. You need to have a lot of followers to benefit from any social media site you want to use. I already have a moderate size followers on Facebook and X and I do not want t waste my time building followers on new platforms

I think that's an issue many people face. Can they be bothered to start over from scratch? The answer is likely - for most people - no.

I've only used Threads once, I haven't logged back into my account in a very long time. I prefer Bluesky to Threads, it's definitely more active than Threads.

I have threads installed on my phone now. It's one of my last options when I promote on social media.

I joined yesterday and started following people I follow on insta -mostly firearms stuff. But my timeline was already filled with random woman posting various shot. I was confused on what I was doing on there and quit.
