I knew that this day was coming, but I didn't really think that it would be so soon. We all have goals and dreams; wether we want to be teachers, computer scientists, pilots, or whatever; and sooner or later, these real-world goals and dreams start demanding more and more from us. So much so, that we have to leave other features of our lives behind. It seems that time has come for me.
As my schooling to become a commercial pilot and my job demand more time from me, I no longer have the plethora of time to dedicate to Forum Promotion as an Administrator. The job of our Admins here is a very tough task that demands attention and copious amounts of time. Unfortunately, that is time that I no longer have working 40 hour weeks, going to school full time, and flying up to 10 hours a week.
Therefore, effective today, August 18, 2015, I, Twisted Fairytale, am resigning from the Forum Promotion staff team as an Administrator.
I have spent over seven years of my life on this community. I have served in almost every staff role, including the first Blog Team way back when. After serving as a Reviewer for more than a year total, I served as the Editorial Team Leader when I decided to merge the Editorial Team and Review Team into how we see it today. Finally, I started the push for Forum Promotion v3.1 and got the ball rolling. After it became too much, I passed the project to Cosmic, who definitely has more time than I to give.
My point of all of this is: the Forum Promotion community means the world to me. I have so many friends here, and am saddened that I will no longer be able to fill the shoes that I have been placed in.
However, I will continue to serve the community as a Retired Administrator, acting as an active advisor to the current administration. I will also serve the community be acting as an active member, approachable by newbies and veterans alike for assistance, conversation, and mere friendship. Plus, who knows? I may be able to find some time to help out in other ways in the future. Possibly the Community Team, if you're reading this, pandaa!
Now, as tradition holds, I must give recognition to my friends and people who have gotten me where I am today!
Migi (phio_chan) - You were the absolute best Team Leader back on the Review Team, and I'll never forget your kindness and leadership abilities. It was my greatest pleasure being able to put you where you belong in the Admin role.
Cosmic - Not my first hire, but definitely my favorite, I knew you would be perfect wherever you were on Forum Promotion, but you're just amazing as leadership. Thank you for all the time you've given the community, and never stop serving like you do!
MasterA - Thank you so much for the opportunities you've given me. In the past six months, you've been one of the most hands-on owners we've had in a very long time.
PoH - The perfect replacement for Cosmic as ETL when he was moved up. You've stepped up to the plate and have ran the team to near perfection. Keep doing what you're good at, John, and stay awesome!
Cameron - Welcome back to the team, and welcome back to leadership! Wow, so fast! You were my first Team Leader when I came back, but I didn't get a chance to know you as the RTL, probably because I know you from all the other stupid projects we worked on together. 😛
Gio - Welcome back to the team, man! Work hard and don't give in! You da bomb!
Joshua Farrell - My first hire. You made it all the way to admin, and I was so proud of you. Keep doing the role you're in to perfection! 🙂
Quacker Jack - Dude. You and I have gotten so close and had so many great conversations. I love you, man, and don't ever give up the passion you have. And take me back on the CT if I ask 😛
Lucky! - Please take my left side back... I LOVE YOU!
Gray - There are absolutely no words to express how good of a friend you are to me. Even though we're literally brothers, I've never had a closer online friend than you, Matt. Love you so much man.
pandaa - I have never disagreed with someone so much in my lifetime as I have with you. However, it means so much that we can realize that we both have FP's interests at heart, and would fight to protect those. You're a great man, pandaa, and a good friend!
Hissae - While I didn't get to know you very well, you're a great person, and a great asset to the community. I think every time one of us resigns, we always say that we need to talk more and it never happens; but we need to talk more!
Well, that concludes my heart-wrenching resignation speech. I sincerely appreciate every opportunity that you all have given me, and I look forward to becoming a larger part in the community soon.
