Hello everyone! I'm sure a lot of you have a lot of tips for buying a new laptop, and I think that we should help people with all the secrets that we know about these computers. I will tell you a few secrets that I learned before I purchased my current laptop:
  1. Don't look at brands. It may sound easier to judge a laptop by the brand that manufactured it, but the truth is that all of them have made good laptops and bad laptops over time. The best thing you can do is to look for reviews of a specific model you like.
  2. Don't be fooled by marketing tricks. A laptop with an Intel i5 CPU can be faster than a laptop with an Intel i7 CPU. Processors that end with the letter "U" are usually dual-core and more energy-efficient, and processors that end with the letter "H" or "HQ" are usually dual-core or quad-core, but they are faster (in exchange for a higher energy consumption)
  3. Choose a laptop with a good cooling system, especially if you plan to use it for gaming or demanding software. A powerful laptop with a poorly designed cooling system won't last too long. Laptops with two fans are usually better than laptops with a single fan.
  4. Choose a laptop with a SSD installed. Even though a SSD has less storage space than a traditional HDD, it is a lot faster. Also, you can always buy an external HDD to increase your storage space.
That is all I can think of now. If you have other tips (and I am sure you have), comment below.

I have been researching on the SSD - solid state drive because I am fascinated by the description that it has no motor, no moving parts so it doesn't emit heat. The usual problem of laptops is excessive heat that is aggravated by the HDD - hard disk drive - which sometimes emit excessive heat when the access is continuous. I will bear this in mind that my next computer would have an SSD. However, from the last I have surveyed in the stores, the SSD is much expensive than the HDD in the same capacity. That's an issue because my budget is limited.
