I rarely get any comments to my blogs, and it makes my blogs look very dead.

I heard asking visitors questions might get some replies or making a poll on a blog will make people talk.

The only people who seem to comment are Internet Marketers, and people who want to promote their site.

I also heard being an active member on Technorati, and other blog directories can get more regular visitors, and commenters.

Plus, writing insightful coments on others blogs also tend to help at geting people to comment I heard.

But, being an active member on a blog social site/directory and commenting on others blog seem like a lot of work.

Offering dofollow when commenting is always good.

The main way that I have increased both traffic and comments on my blog is via Comment Love. Its a wonderful little plugin.

They are auto-spammers, probably from Xrumer. Be sure to remove them, but some times they are legit.

if u wanna leave a comment to someone blog...dont say only yes or single word... leave a good comment ,simple and informative..the admin will reply your message..try it!

I dont know a huge amount about blogs but I would say that you you should but something in your posts to get readers involved. For example ask them a question, ask their opinions, or anything that would make them want to post. Also make sure you are getting a decent amount of visitors to your site.

Erm, if you can get quality blog services from people on forums then that's good! Also, follow back comments.

Thanks I installed Comment Love on my Blog. It is a pretty good plug-in.

Thanks, for the tips everyone!

I guest finding a way to connect/"Be friend" with my readers might also add more comments since some people are more likely to comment on online friends blogs vs a strangers blog.

Asking questions is a good way, as BamBam said, but it also helps to find dofollow forums of the same theme as your blog, and post responses to people asking direct questions about the content that is in your blog (with your link in your siggy). I've found this attracts readers who are actually interested in your content and not just in getting a linkback.
