Basically Tired Pony country-tinged styled based band according to lead singer Lightbody. Tired Pony consists of Gary Lightbody who founded the group and is also lead singer for Snow Patrol, Richard Colburn who also drummed for Snow Patrol in early sessions, Iain Archer and he once was a secondary lyricist for the band Snow Patrol, Jacknife Lee, also known as Garret who is an Irish music producer, Peter Buck, co-founder and guitarist for rock group R.E.M, Scott McCaughey who is a Portland based guitarist and currently played with R.E.M. The band also consist's of Troy Stewart where there is no information released about him yet.

When Lightbody formed the group for his love towards country music, he consisted that his all time hero Peter Buck must be in this group, it is one of those things you just have to get out the system, Lightbody told Hot Press. Lightbody has always enjoyed passion for country music and how he would create a country based album but he described his album as not so country but country-tinged.
