In total there are 13 users online :: 2 registered, 0 hidden and 11 guests (based on users active over the past 5 minutes)

That's based on over the past 5 mins..

this is for the whole day:

In total there were 42 users online :: 9 registered, 0 hidden, 1 bot and 32 guests (based on users active today)

I want them to register and my site is in my signature, does any1 got any tips? :cheer:

Well put up an attractive welcome message including wanted features. I do believe I was one of those guest reading upon things but good luck.

Maybe so, vampire ^.-

I was thinking of creating a joomla page & merge my phpbb3 forum with joomla like this: http://forum.joomla.org/

it will increase our content on the site and i think it looks realy cool & proffesional. What do u think 🙂?

They couldve have just log in and read your posts/topics.

What you can do is restrict guests from accessing certain forums.

Done ;p let's see if it's any effective 😉 will reply back in a couple of hours

I don't think you should dis-able it all, just make it viewable but whn hey click a certain forum it is access denied.

Aight i will disable all xcept the Announcement & Update Category and the sections in it 🙂 i think that will do..

No what you should do is download a mod that disables guest from viewing topics. That is what they are trying to point out to you.

That doesn't work the way you want it to. Most of the time, visitors actually leave if they can't see what's in your forum. Its bad practice.

Indeed, if I was a guest and wasn't able to view threads/topics, i'd just leave and find another forum/website.

Honestly, idk if there is a mod or what this is what you should do. Have it so if the user is Anonymous (aka a guest) that they get to read the first post but than you disable all posts or a few and give a nice box saying "register to view rest of the posts" or something!

Guests are incredibly hard to turn into members. Just look at my guest count each day

Users active in the past 24 hours: 1004 (32 members and 972 guests)

Do I get 900 members joining though? No, far from it. It's one of those things you just have to ignore really. The only people that really make a difference are the ones that actually join.

This is what I was going to say. Having some forums a guest can't see is fine, but restricting all of them just makes less people join. Why should they join your forum when there's hundreds of other ones that do let them see what's going on?

I agree they were probably bots. Bots are a good thing! That means that your site is being indexed, and will be easier to find in a search.

Well guests won't harm your forum. It's good for traffic ranks. However, if you still want more registrations then you can hide some exclusive material from guests.
