Too many webmaster forums?

There are a lot of them for sure. Not too many though. There aren't too many which are big, which is a good thing.

There's always new ones popping up. But a lot do close down as well. I haven't seen many that have lasted a long time.

There are more general chat forums and gaming forums than webmaster forums.
I assume many topics have their own forums as well..

So what's the point you're trying to get at?
Do you want people to stop creating forums or something?

Just my opinion here, But i think if there is alot that must mean there is a big market.

Well, obviously. Anyone who creates a website is technically a "webmaster" or if you don't agree with this, then anyone who controls a website is technically a "webmaster". Considering how many websites there are on the Web, of course there is a big market.

Personally I think there are too many webmaster/promotion/advertising forums out there. In the past there must've been more, since I have seen many sites merging into one lately. For webmasters, a lot of such forums can be beneficial for them to use services to help their websites grow bigger, so probably it is not really a bad idea. The problem lies in being unique, I guess.

Yes, there are lots of webmaster forums but there are not many active ones and ones that are worth joining.

There are definitely a lot of them, but I don't have a problem with them. Some are better than others and some aren't as perfect, but webmaster forums in my opinion is definitely a favored genre based on how large of a community some of the webmaster forums have, which there are definitely a lot of if you include promotion forums, etc.

There are few out there that are really spawned by good knowledgeable admins. one of my fav is the netbuilders.org

one simple answer to this is yes..
Becuase as you would of known that i did have a webmaster forum up 6 months ago, There is alot of hard work involved in picking it up and even that work doesent pay off..
It can take years to even get a propper webmaster forum to succeed..

There are many new webmaster forums that open, but as long as they do something out of the ordinary to make their name, the will be a hit. But if people are creating a webmaster forum with things that have already been seen and nothing new, frankly they are wasting their time as it is going to go nowhere. Just as a business, you must offer something unique and out of the ordinary to generate success. Yeah sure, you can still gain success with something seen before, but if you want to attract even more people you have to go above and beyond.

I think there is just too much of this, way too many out there. Googled "webmaster forum" and came up with 39,100,000 results. Was on the 22nd page and still saw actual webmastering forums... x______X

There will always be an abundance of every type of forum. It's up to you to find the most helpful/best/whatever-is-your-criteria forum.
