Do you get a headache or eye strain from too much screen time? I often forget to look up and focus on far away things like my eye doctor directed me to do. What tips do you have to avoid problems?

I have a timer by the monitor that I use. It's been a life saver. I get headaches as well as neck strain & I have to take a minute to adjust myself. Doing stretches helps as well as eye exercises.

Most people do. It is helpful if we have some sort of distraction, even if it is a coffee break.

But when we are using an IDE or text editor and is too much involved in solving something, there is a good chance that it will end up in a strained neck and burning eyes.

I've never spent so much time on screen that I've gotten a headache before. I normally split my time between being on screen to watching tv and reading and doing other things. That may be why I've not had a problem.

I know I do stare at the screen way too long some days, but it doesn't cause me any bad effects to my knowledge at least. I do need to learn to step away more often though.

Once in a blue moon, I can get bad eye strain and headaches from looking at screens all day long and not taking breaks and having water. My PC is on right away as soon as I'm up from bed and on till late.

That's why I have gunnar optics glasses 🙂 It's a yellow lens that helps to reduce strain and easy to read what you need to look at without pooping yourself.

I rarely do. But when it happens and you're at home. Turns the lights out & go lay down for a while. It helps.
