Website Name: TopGear Forums
Website link: http://www.topgearforums.net/
Description: TopGear Site & Forums. You may call this a 'Fan Site'.

Linkback: I'm going to add this after I finish the main site.

I think I may have started a thread in the wrong forum.

The banner could be a little better and so to the layout.

Other than that everything looks fine, good luck!

The website looks a bit too basic and could be improved in my opinion also -🙂-

Suggestions would be nice.

Thanks for the feedback!

I think you should Put links to the Episodes in the BBC Iplayer 🙂 on your forum, would be a great service 🙂

I was thinking of uploading 41GB of Episodes somewhere, then displaying them on my site.

Problem with that is, I'm not that good with cPanel, FTP,
whatever I need to use.

I need to create 1 navigator link, then 11 invisible links. navigator one is easy, but I'm not sure how to make invisible links (Must know link to see it).

Total posts 11 • Total topics 8 • Total members 3

Not very good at all ~sad~

Make the banner and forum look like the show! Top Gear is great and I'm thinking of joining your site.

  • A logo that has aspects of the show (i.e the presenters, top gear logo and so on)
  • Make the website narrower and less stretched across the screen
  • Maybe put a border around all the content the have the background of the content a different colour or patten if you want to use an image for the background (take alot at this forum style and the background inside the border is black and outside the border it is dark grey with a diaganle patten (see screen shot))
  • Add more colours in to make it stand out more as you just use the same style colours
  • Add some images

    On the forum...
  • Remove the redirect link to the website and add a link in the nav bar (found in overall header template for your style)
  • Again get a better logo and try to use the same logo throughout your site rather then a different one for the site and the forum.
  • Start more topics and get your moderator to start positing to help get some more posts and answer your topics... It will help build activity.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I'll be working on this right away. The only thing I can't do really
is banners, I'm not good with Photoshop. ~confuse~

If you need a custom website or forum style I offer a professional and fast service, visit the site in my sig.

The header of your website is fine, it's just below the navbar things start to go wrong. It's not good SEO to display "This is just temporary" and "coming soon" on your site, as when your site gets indexed in Google it will display that text to people who see your link. Whilst we're on the subject of SEO i would change your page links from "WatchTopGear.php" to "watch-top-gear.php". This is because search engines read hyphens (-) as a null value, so your page links will be indexed as three keywords "watch, top, gear" rather than one word it cannot understand.

As for your "Watch topgear" page, I would be very careful with what you display on there and where you get it from. I used to own a TopGear site and got in trouble from the BBC for hosting and displaying episodes on my site. Also try to lay it out in a 2 column table, displaying videos this way will save space on your page and users won't need to scroll down once you've added more videos.

Moving onto your forum I think you could do with a better skin. The skin you're using is quite poorly made as you'll find out when you visit some areas of the forum. Again I can make you a phpBB style if you refer to the link in my sig. You also need a custom banner and a custom imageset (new topic, new post icons etc...) to make it unique and not "just another" top gear forum.

Finally I would suggest getting some posts on your forum before continuing to actively promote it. This could be from your friends or family or even package teams on promotion forums. Nobody will join an empty forum, at least if it's got a few hundred posts people will think about joining up and helping out. Especially if you offer something that only your members can get.

(one last thing, please change your font colour on ForumPromotion to something that can be read properly on the dark style.)

Best of luck 🙂

Okay, I'll do that asap.

Am I better off just removeing it?

I'm rubbish with Photoshop, and I can't afford to pay people.

That's what I'm trying to do. 🙂

Thanks for the infomation.

For the videos page I would just remember to claim that the BBC are the original creators of the clips, add a link to both the top gear site and the BBC top gear site. Also remember to mention that the videos are property of the respective owners etc etc...

As for the banner, why not ask the graphics team here to do you one? ~smile~

The Site is a different backgrond colour to forums.

Do I request 2 banners? Then pay like 50FP each?

I believe you can request as many graphics as you like. You could even ask for them to make it on a transparrent background so the same banner would work on both site and forum ~smile~

Love the show, and cannot wait for the new season. Though clarkson's head is a little bit whacked on the front page ~cheesey_grin~

Other then that maybe focus more on the show itself, and have less sections, maybe when you have more people then branch out. Or not, haha, either way I like your site, and love the show so it's all cool
