This is a new project I found that is supposed to act as an open source Skype replacement. They also claim that it's more secure than Skype, and that the government won't be reading your messages. What do you guys think?

It wont live up to the par of Skype 😛 And honestly if the government wants to hear me talk about my dog on Skype, they can 😛 Doesnt seem like a good use of their time.

Tox.im sounds useful, but I'm not sure how I ask my friends, and family to use this service without looking suspicious which may cause cautious people to report me for being suspicious if I say, "Lets switch over to tox.im to avoid government surveillance, so we should use tox.im to hide our chat logs."

If it was a Server/Client communication like Vent/Mumble/Teamspeak and had all the permission controls of teamspeak, I would jump on it ASAP.
